£5k Budget Breakdown – October 2022
Well, October has been a spenny month! Only two months into my year-long gap year and I have already spent over 20% of my £5k budget. Just writing that percentage down is a little panic inducing BUT surprisingly my projections have me still in budget! New here? Let me give you a little context... I have just graduated from uni and have chosen to take a gap year before deciding what to do next, career wise. I will be spending the entire year travelling and have set myself a strict £5k budget which needs to cover all costs and last the entire year! Seem a little tight? Check out this…

September 2022 Money Review
One month down, only eleven left of my gap year! Crazy how fast time flies when you are professionally unemployed 😂 But the end of the month means only one thing on this blog – time for a September money review! September did not really go to plan but I made the most of the situation. I ended up staying an extra two weeks with my parents because a housesit got cancelled. This was one I had organised with a friend so I wasn’t covered by any guarantee like I am when I housesit through Trusted Housesitters. But this meant for a very cheap month. This will be the last…

August 2022 Money Review
August has been a busy month for me! I left both of my jobs, moved out of my uni accommodation and moved back in with my parents – temporarily! Just until I leave for my year-long trip housesitting around the world. Let’s get into my August money review! More on that in another post, for now let’s get into August’s numbers. What is a money review? It is where I share reflections on my finances from the previous month and detail every penny in and out. I find doing this at least monthly is a good way to stay connected to your finances. Plus, I love reading them back in a…

Here we are again! Another month gone, another money roundup. Time for a July money review. Scary how fast this year is going by – soon it will be Christmas again! What is a money review? It is where I share reflections on my finances from the previous month and detail every penny in and out. I find doing this at least monthly is a good way to stay connected to your finances. Plus, I love reading them back in a couple of months! Why do I share this? I know it might seem weird to share this on the internet, but I truly believe in creating the type of content…

June 2022 Money Review
June has simultaneously felt like both the longest and the shortest month ever. I cannot get my head around the fact that we are already half way through 2022, how is that even possible!! However, it is one of my favourite months of the year as it’s my birthday, the days are longer and brighter and the sun occasionally makes an appearance. But without further ado, lets get into it! What is a money review? It is where I share reflections on my finances from the previous month, and detail every penny in and out. I find doing this at least monthly is a good way to stay connected to your…

May 2022 Money Review – I spent how much?!?
Well what do we have here? A May money review! It’s about time 😂. It’s only taken me about three weeks to finally sit down and write this up but you know what they say better late than never right! What is a money review? It is where I share reflections on my finances from the previous month, and detail every penny in and out. I find doing this at least monthly is a good way to stay connected to your finances. Plus I love reading them back in a couple of months! Why do I share this? I know it might seem weird to share this on the internet…

Wowcher Mystery Holiday – How Much It Actually Cost!
Back in January 2020, yes a lifetime ago, my mum and I embarked on a Wowcher Mystery Holiday. I paid for the holiday the previous August as a birthday gift for my mum. We finally got the call in September telling us where we were going and the dates. Incredibly by chance, we got assigned Venice, a place which had been at the top of my mum’s bucket list for decades and we were travelling the weekend before her birthday 😱. It couldn’t have worked out better!! I wrote a full review back in 2020, weighing up whether it is actually worth it for the £99 price point. To follow…

January Money Breakdown – How I Spent £1,789.22
2022 is now way underfoot, one month down, eleven left!! I have decided to start sharing my monthly financial reviews in long format content rather than just on my instagram as I would find this complete breakdown more valuable than a pie chart! So without further ado here is my January money review. A complete breakdown of how I spent £1,789.22 – I do also share my income at the end 😉 Spending #1 Essential = £1370.84 My essential spending in January can be split two separate categories – groceries and rent. I pay my rent at the start of each term, instead of monthly or weekly. In my case,…
