Side Hustle Sites – How Much I Cashed Out In 2023

I’ve been using online side hustle sites since 2020. This was when I first fell into an online rabbit hole of online surveys and tasks. And honestly, I haven’t looked back since. Today I went back through my money spreadsheet and worked out how much I cashed out from various side hustle sites and thought I’d share the data with you.

I only looked at side hustle sites and apps that anyone can use and make money from. So from smallest to largest, here is exactly how much I cashed out from 13 different side hustle apps/sites…

Weare8 = £2.12

This is an app that pays you to watch ads and answer a few multiple choice questions about them. It’s a very hit and miss app in that you can go weeks without being offered an ad to watch and then get 4 a day for a month. Most of the time, I was getting 6p for each ad I watched. So it’s not an app that will make you rich. But for a couple of minutes of your time, it’s a relatively easy way to make a couple quid each year. I didn’t really get back into using this app until the last quarter of 2023 and any earnings take 30 days to process so my cash out total is very low for 2023.

Branded Surveys = £4.34

Love the daily poll on Branded Surveys – the highest paying one I’ve found so far. I only cashed out once in 2023 and that was mostly down to answering the poll when I remembered. Now it’s a key part of my daily routine so hoping this total will be much higher in 2024.

Bonus Kings = £5

I found this site through an offer on Swagbucks and managed to get a double reward for completing one task. I got paid £30 through Swagbucks to complete the offer (I’m pretty sure it was a bingo offer) and got a bonus fiver through Bonus Kings.

EverUp = £6.65

EverUp used to be a good savings account option as the more money you kept in the account, the more coins you earned each day which you could use to play games. Including their weekly million pound lotto. I used to keep my gap year fund in here and over the year of playing for my interest I won £6.65. Now, you can no longer keep your money in there but you can still play the daily games and buy gift cards off them.

OhMyDosh = £10

OhMyDosh is an online task website where you get paid to do stuff online – like playing bingo, taking out free trials, ordering tester products. I completed one task in 2023 and cashed out £10 from the site.

Askable = £10

This is a market research site which pays you to take part in research or answer surveys. I qualified for one short survey in 2023 which paid £10 straight to my paypal account.

Jam Doughnut = £13.76

Jam Doughnut is a cashback app where you can earn cash for buying gift vouchers through the site. I cashed out £13.76 from this app in 2023, mostly from one Turtle Bay gift card I bought – thank you bottomless brunch.

Skedadle = £17.02

Skedadle is an app that pays you to play games. I only really got into using this app when they updated it so you didn’t have to be on the move to earn. I had a pretty decent month where I cashed out over £11 and then a not so decent month earning around £6 for about the same amount of game play. Recently I found the earnings per minute terrible so I’ve stopped using it.

Shopmium = £22.34

Shopmium is a cashback app that pays you for buying certain products. I love using it to buy things that I was already going to buy or the freebie items on there. I got £22.34 back for using Shopmium in 2023.

Swagbucks = £60

I love Swagbucks for their task offers – especially the playing games ones. I cashed out £60 in 2023 for completing a few offers on there and answering the daily poll here and there.

iShopfor Ipsos = £129

This is a mystery shopping site that I use to get paid to order booze. Over the course of 2023, I was paid £129 for completing tasks on this site.

TopCashback = £140.10

I have been a TopCashback fan for years! It was the first cashback site I was introduced to and I make sure to check it whenever I’m shopping online. In 2023 I cashed out £140.10 from TopCashback. This was mostly organic cashback from purchases I was already making, usually insurance, but I did also complete a few tasks through the site. Like the time I made over £30 back from ordering a bag of dog food through TopCashback.

Prolific = £352.18

My all time favourite survey site and this is why! I cashed out over £350 from this site in 2023, and I couldn’t even use the site for around 7 months of the year as I wasn’t in the UK. The surveys are actually interesting, don’t take all day and pay well. Prolific will forever be my go-to side hustle site!

In 2023, I cashed out from 13 different side hustle sites and got paid a combined £722.51. Not bad for effort that went into them. These are all sites that anyone can use and earn money on! Hopefully sharing this will show you that little and often the pennies that seem pointless really do add up!

What are your favourite side hustle sites? Do you use and love any of these?
