How I Made £302.49 from Side Hustles in August!

August was a crazy month for me!! I spent half of it finishing off my second season at summer camp. And the second half travelling around the US, visiting some of my favourite people. That left little to no time for side hustles but I was able to get a couple of things done. Which I’m going to breakdown in this post.

Now this post will breakdown exactly how much I made in August from side hustles but this isn’t necessarily how much I was paid. Some of my hustles take months for the money to actually physically hit my bank account.

To get an idea of what I’m paid each month from side hustles check out my 10k side hustle challenge updates where I only share the income I’ve been paid.

Ok with that in mind, let’s break down how I made £302.49 from side hustles in August…

Surveys = £0.05

I answered two daily polls on the last day of August when I was online trying to get myself organised.

Watching Ads = £0.06

I watched one ad in August, on the last day of the month when I randomly decided to check the app. The app I use to get paid to watch ads is called WeAre8. It’s a good one to dip in and out of.

Sharing Data = £2

I got my normal £2 from Amazon Shopper Panel, the app that pays you to share your ad data.

LISA Bonus = £3.50

I didn’t add much to my LISA in July so the bonus that came through in August was small. But progress is progress and I’m inching closer to maxing this account out again.

Cashback = £10.10

The 1% cashback feature through my Chase card was the only way I earned cashback this month. I primarily use this card when I’m abroad to take advantage of this feature.

Interest = £15.94

I love earning passive income from my savings each month. I keep all my sinking funds (including my emergency fund) in various easy access savings accounts. These all bring in around 4% in interest.

The Frugal Explorer = £105.84

I made money from blogging through a mix of affiliates, referrals and ad revenue.

Freelancing = £165

Although I haven’t had much time to side hustle this summer, the one thing I made time for was freelancing. The hours I did in August accumulated to £165. This is lower than my normal amount because I took two weeks off from one client.

Total = £302.49

Considering I was travelling/working abroad the entire month, I’m happy that this wasn’t a big fat zero. Progress is progress right and with my big 10k goal every single penny counts.
