The best way to save more money is to make more money! As it gets to a point where you can’t cut back anymore on your spending. So I’ve put together a list of 50 different ways you can boost your income…

#1 Do Online Surveys

Surveys are my favourite way to make a little extra every month for minimal effort or commitment. Completing surveys are so easy and I find the best time to complete them is whilst watching tv.

Earning potential: it completely depends on how much time you put in and which sites you use. My monthly earnings range from £30-£75 but I’ve known people make £100s each month.

#2 Transcribe Audio

This side hustle requires a little more skill than surveys but it is still relatively easy and perfect for beginners. Rev is a great place to start, the entrance test is easy to pass and the pay is good.

Earning Potential: Rev advertise their average earnings as around £250 each month.

#3 Translate Text/Audio

Do you know a second language? Why not sell this skill and begin translating text and/or audio.

Earning Potential: average around 10p per word!

#4 Complete Online Tasks

20 Cogs is a website that pays you to complete tasks online such as, playing bingo, starting a free trial or changing energy provider.

#5 Sell Printables

Printables require an initial time investment but can easily become a passive source of income. Sites like Etsy are the perfect place to sell printables. Whether it’s calendars, planners or party games, there is a market out there for them.

#6 Make YouTube Videos

Posting videos to YouTube could become highly profitable, especially if you make good and valuable content. This idea requires effort and time commitment and it won’t make you a fortune over night. But if you’re passionate about a topic and enjoy creating video content, this could be a great side hustle for you!

Similar to the one above, this idea won’t make you money overnight. But if you are looking to cultivate a sustainable source of income, starting a blog could be perfect for you.

Matched betting is where you place multiple bets on all outcomes to guarantee a win. How do you make money? By taking advantage of offers and free bets. Warning!! Do not try this if gambling is a problem for you… there will be a lot of temptation to go off plan and then you will loose money!

#9 Day Trade

This one also comes with a warning! *80% of day traders loose money*

BUT it is a way to make money. At its most basic level, day trading is buying stocks when they are low and selling when they are high – all within the market opening hours.

There are companies that will pay you to read and review books – more often than not ARC copies!! Meaning you could get to read books before they even hit the market. Whether its fiction or non fiction you could write and self publish an Ebook today! Amazon has a tool that lets you self-publish and price your Ebooks.

The majority of companies that recruit online English language teachers are for Chinese students. This means the hours are usually outside of the normal 9-5 in UK timezones, so this could be a great side gig.

Podcast are very in fashion at the moment and some are even making more than a full time income. They make money through sponsorships, ads and affiliate links.

This is the most basic and normal one on the list! Getting a part-time job is a sure way to boost your income each month. But you don’t have to stick to the normal student jobs, e.g. hospitality or retail. Why not think outside of the box? Most universities hire their students to work as a student ambassadors, where you show prospective students around, answer questions or pick international students up from the airport.

Being a freelance photographer comes with so many different options and opportunities. You could specialise in weddings, birthdays, engagement shoots, newborn photos or family photoshoots to name a few. The opportunities are endless! This idea will need an initial investment for equipment but after a few gigs they will pay for themselves.

Similar to being a freelance photographer, this suggestion comes with so so many different opportunities and avenues to pursue.

You may have seen the adverts online boasting about making millions each month dropshipping. Whilst it is unlikely that you will make this much, dropshipping is still a valid way to make money. Essentially, dropshipping is where you list products on your website or hosted site (e.g. Ebay or Amazon) and when a customer makes an order, a factory fulfils the order. Perks of dropshipping are that you don’t have to invest in the products initially or find a place to keep inventory or have to deal with shipping.

Tasks often offered by a VA include doing digital marketing, managing appointments, running personal errands or even booking travel.

#42 Deliver Food

Most people will rule this out if they don’t own a car, but you don’t actually need a car to make this work as a profitable side hustle. Many people complete this role using a bike.

This idea is perfect if you own a car but don’t use it as much as you would like, especially considering the ongoing costs that come with having a car. Sites like hiyacar allows you to list your car, accept bookings and make extra money each month almost completely passively!

#47 Sell Used Tech

I can’t be the only one that has a draw of old tech that I have no idea how to throw away! Why not be smarter than me and sell it? Regardless of its condition, there will be a buyer out there who simply wants the parts.

#48 Freelance Cleaner

You could market yourself to families (i.e. cleaning homes) or to businesses (i.e. cleaning offices), either way becoming a freelance cleaner could be a great way to boost your income.

#49 Babysit

Do you like kids? Why not work as a babysitter? Most of the time you’ll be needed in the evenings or weekends, making this a great side gig to have on top of school or a job.

#50 Busk

Make sure to check whether you need a license from the council before you start this one! But busking could be a great way to boost your income.
