How I Made £2047.04 from my October Side Hustles

October has been a great month side hustle wise! It was my limbo month, in between my 4 month trip and my next seasonal job so I was determined to make it a productive one. At the start of the month, I set the goal to make £1346.66 from my october side hustles as this was the exact amount I needed to hit my 10k goal. And boy did I smash this!

Heads up! In my side hustle earnings reports I count every penny earned in the month of October, not necessarily money that has hit my account. Let’s take freelancing as an example: the total you see in this post is the hours I worked in October but I probably won’t see this money until November as I invoice my hours at the end of the month. Ok let’s break down how I made £2047.04 from side hustles in October…

Sharing Data ~ £2

I downloaded this app in May last year and have earned £2 passively each month since. But this is the last passive £2 from this app! Absolutely gutted that Amazon Shopper Panel have changed their data sharing reward system. Instead of a blanket £2 reward for having the data sharing turned on, they’ve changed it to rewards based on surveys answered. It was good while it lasted ay!

Online Tasks ~ £5

I like to dip in and out of various online task websites and complete any tasks that look decent. This month I randomly checked OhMyDosh and saw a new bingo offer that I jumped on immediately. I made £5 profit from this offer.

Free Shares ~ £11.55

I absolutely love a free share offer and will jump on all the offers I see. I came across an offer from WeBull this month, where current account holders with a balance of £0 could get 5 free shares if they deposited £100+. The shares could be worth anything from $3 to $300 each so I couldn’t miss out on this offer.

I got 5 shares worth a combined $15 which transfers to around £11.55 at the current exchange rate. That’s an 11.55% simple return on the money – winner! Plus if I keep the £100 in the account, I’ll get another 5 free shares in 90 days. At least doubling the return on this offer.

Surveys ~ £39.57

Surveys are one of those side hustles that I like to keep chipping away at in the background, mostly when I’m watching tv or procrastinating work. I really only use Prolific nowadays as the surveys on there are actually worth the time they take.

I set a goal at the start of the year to hit £1000 earned off Prolific and my balance is currently standing at nearly £943.

Mystery Shopping ~ £53.13

I completed three at home mystery shops during October, making a total profit of £53.13 and bagging some decent Christmas presents. These were all through a site called iShopforIpsos.

Interest & LISA Bonus ~ £63.29

I keep all my sinking funds in HYSA’s earning around 4% in interest, plus I’ve recently moved my emergency fund to a bigger paying easy access account at 4.85%. I also got paid some of the bonus from my LISA, which I’m getting closer and closer to maxing out.

Blogging ~ £406.25

Super happy with this total! My highest blogging income month to date so far this year. I currently make money from blogging through referrals, affiliates and display ads.

Freelance VA ~ £723.75

Huge month for freelancing! I took on two new clients at the end of September and made my first income with them this month. I’ve sort of fell into being a Virtual Assistant (VA) but I’m loving how varied the work is and could see this becoming a bigger chunk of my monthly income.

Waiting On ~ £742.50

I spent a week of October in my uni town helping out at the pub I worked at during uni. I did a week of shifts and got paid just under £800 which is a decent boost to my 10k side hustle challenge total.

Total = £2047.04

We’re back bby!! My summer was super busy so I didn’t have much time to side hustle and my earnings reflected this so I’m over the moon with this months total. I absolutely smashed my goal for the month meaning my 10k side hustle challenge is technically complete, I’m just waiting for the money to actually hit my account.
