3 Side Hustles I Want To Focus On in 2024

Testing out new side hustles have become one of my biggest passions. I absolutely love finding the weird and wonderful ways to make money – whether that’s online, in person or a mix of both. This hobby of mine led to me ending 2023 with 20 different income streams, none of which are fully sustainable or predictable. So in 2024 I want to narrow my attention a little bit and focus on a few side hustles that I can either see becoming a sustainable income stream or something I’ve been putting off.

Now this doesn’t mean that I’ll be ditching all the other side hustles I have, just that I will be prioritising these three above the rest. So what are they?

THIS BLOG

I have been playing around with this blogging thing for nearly 4 years and I’ve never fully taken it seriously. I’ve made plan after plan after plan of how I see it succeeding and put hours into researching and learning. Somehow I managed to grow my instagram page to over 37,000 followers but I’ve never fully gone all in on the blog thing. Which, if I’m being completely honest, is the only way I see myself making any form of significant income from this thing I’ve built. So that is going to be my major side hustle focus this year.

I want to go all in on making content creation a serious income stream of mine and that means actually putting in the work. I know what I need to do to hit my goals so 2024 will be the year I make my blogging dreams a reality. In 11 months time I will look back and think “why didn’t I put the effort in years ago”.

SELLING THINGS

I see people making bank selling things online but I never thought that was an option for me because I don’t really have much stuff to sell. But about nine months ago, a family friend gave me a bunch of stuff to sell on her behalf. I’ve sold a couple bits (mostly on ebay) but my travel plans always seemed to get in the way of selling the rest. So that’s going to be one of my side hustle focuses in 2024, selling the rest of the stuff.

HOUSE/PETSITTING FOR MONEY

I’ve spent the last year housesitting through 11 different countries as a way to stick to my crazy 5k travel budget. This was a fab way to see the world without blowing my budget and it means I have a tonne of experience and reviews behind me. Now I want to switch tactics and turn all this experience into another side hustle.

That’s it, the three side hustles I want to focus on in 2024. I’m feeling very optimistic about this year and can’t wait to see where I am in 11 months time.
